X-Trees exists to make tree data easier to manage, share and integrate, across restoration projects, business systems and open infrastructure. Built on openness, interoperability and transparent tree data.
The commercialization of the X-Tree System has been supported by the European Union and the Free State of Saxony.
The project aims to bring to market an innovative system that enables companies to participate in reforestation projects in a transparent, secure, and verifiable way.
The X-Trees system is designed to give particularly micro and small enterprises direct access to reforestation projects while providing a level of transparency and traceability that has not previously been available.
The solution comprises software components with interfaces to monitoring platforms, ERP systems, and websites, as well as dedicated hardware in the form of X-Trees Monitors. Installed directly on trees, these devices form a self-organizing communication network and collect direct tree health and environmental monitoring data on site, enabling continuous and transparent monitoring of reforestation projects.
